UPCYCLED GRAPE SKINS
Wine industry surplus, upcycled into a supple material for linings and insoles.
Created from grape marc recovered during Italian wine production, our grape skin gives new purpose to material that remains after the winemaking process. Grape marc is composed of the skins, stalks and seeds of the fruit.
The recovered material is transformed in Italy using water-based polyurethane rather than PVC, without chemical solvents. Color is achieved using REACH-compliant dyes.
Produced using renewable energy, grape skin brings together two longstanding areas of Italian expertise: winemaking and material innovation. At Prota Fiori, its smooth, supple character makes it particularly suited to the linings and insoles of our shoes.
