Try on your shoes on a soft surface, like carpet, rug, or on a towel for a smooth surface. The outsoles are delicate, and this will ensure you do not damage the shoes in the event that you need to exchange them for a new size.
02Each shoe is unique
Each PROTA FIORI is handmade by 2nd generation luxury shoemakers, therefore each shoe will be unique and extra special. What may seem like an imperfection is the hand craftsmanship by the shoemaker.
03How to adjust the holes
It is normal for the holes along the strap of the shoe to be tight upon the first few wears. The holes will slightly enlarge and loosen as you wear the shoe. The shoe is not damaged, this is typical.
04How to store your Prota Fiori shoes
Store your PROTA FIORI shoes in their original packaging inside the shoebox and out of direct sunlight and heat. Ensure shoes with the bow and/or hardware are stored in such a way that the bow and/or hardware are not placed out of tact and/or sitting on anything abrasive. Lay the shoes neatly in the box. Ensure the shoes are well ventilated before storage.
05How to maintain the shape of your shoe
Please ensure that you stuff the shoes with un-coloured tissue paper or use a shoe tree to maintain the shape of your shoes. It is only natural for the shape of the shoes to change over time because it will mould to the shape of your own foot, and they may also stretch with extensive wear.
06How to maintain the soles
The soles of your PROTA FIORI shoe are made from delicate vegetable tanned leather therefore the tanning is natural and subject to marking upon first wear. This is not a manufacturing defect. It is the natural process and part of the normal wear of vegetable tanned leather soles.
For care of your soles, it is recommended to not walk on any wet surfaces.
07How to maintain the lining
The lining of your PROTA FIORI shoes is made from delicate upcycled grape skin. First, never place dirty feet in your shoes. Feet must be clean and wiped before being placed into the shoe. If dirt arrives in your shoes, you can gently remove any dirt on the lining by using a clean damp cloth to wipe away impurities.
08How to maintain the heel tips
It is only natural that with extensive wear your heel tips may naturally deteriorate. It is recommended to change the heel tips if and when they start to show wear and tear. This is very important because your heel tip can affect the entire shape of the shoe. Any reputable cobbler can replace your heel tips.
09How to maintain the bow
The PROTA FIORI bow is hand stitched and is very delicate. Always be very careful with the bow and do not lay it against another object and/or force the bow in different directions. This is important for the bow to maintain its shape and structure for longevity.
10How to maintain the hardware
It is important that all hardware is kept out of contact of the upper fabrication as this may cause the material to snag, scratch or tear, or abrasion.
Ensure the shoes are stored in their care bags in such a way that the hardware does not come into contact with any part of the shoes.
Avoid contact with water, alcohol, oils and solvents. If the hardware happens to be in contact with water, pat with a dry cloth.

Upcycled grape skin is smooth, delicate and strong providing a durable leather alternative for the lining and insole of your PROTA FIORI shoes. Similar to animal skins, upcycled grape skins may naturally wrinkle and soften with age. Always use a lightly damp soft cloth to wipe away any dirt.
Due to its delicate nature, upcycled grape skins may mark easily so we suggest avoiding any contact with abrasive objects and surfaces, as well as dust and dirt. Do not apply leather care products on upcycled grape skins.
