VEGETABLE-TANNED LEATHER

Leather tanned using plant-derived tannins rather than conventional chrome or metal tanning.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather material

Rooted in a centuries-old tradition, vegetable tanning uses tannins derived from plants to transform hides into leather without conventional chrome or metal tanning.

Our vegetable-tanned leather is sourced from an Italian tannery known for its expertise in this specialized process. The result is a material that reflects both the character of natural leather and generations of Italian tanning knowledge.

At Prota Fiori, we use vegetable-tanned leather for our outsoles, where its natural character becomes part of both the construction and the life of the shoe. With wear, the sole naturally marks and evolves, a characteristic of the material rather than an imperfection.
